Josh Fields Rule #5
- Should commish notify all teams when a player is available because he wasn’t activated within the two weeks required.
- Should commish notify all teams when a player is available because he wasn’t activated within the two weeks required.
All available players that are released or nuked should be on the spread sheet. If a mistake is made and a player is left off the sheet then the league should be notified of the mistake.
Ok, so you think we should have a rule change then, because right now this isn’t the case.
The sheet is sent out every week. Every time I ask owners to double check their own moves.
Apparently, some owners failed to notify the commish there was a mistake. That’s why we ran into a problem.
I lost Mark Melancon and Josh Fields last year because I didn’t activate them within two weeks. Josh Fields elicited an email from you to the league. I’m just looking for a consistent method here. Every week you will be including players lost on the spreadsheet because they weren’t activated, is that what we’re saying?
I have no problem either way really. Notification would be nice; but not necessary.
I don’t care either, but I think it should be one or the other.
I assume that you were aware of the loss of each player. I think TRC lost a player one year and did not know until the spreadsheet was sent out. Does that ring a bell?
Yes, I was aware, the league wasn’t though. That’s why I’m asking for clarification here. Commish sent out league wide notification for Fields because “he’s more desirable.” I don’t care what we decide, but I do know it should be one or the other. Email notification for all, or emails for none.
As stated before, each owner is responsible for double checking the Commish email each transaction day for errors. As the Commish is bound to make a couple mistakes throughout the year. If each owner does this, I’m sure we’ll avoid any mix-ups like this in the future.
I don’t why a special email should be sent out to the league each time this happens, but if it slips through the cracks as it did with Fields, I’ll be sure to correct it, just like I did this past year.
I remember calling the commish and speaking to him specifically about J.Fields because I was going to claim him on waivers. I didn’t and was a little surprised that no other owner did that week. Then the next week that email was sent out and I didn’t understand why since the move was a week old at that time.
It was sent out because I was told Josh Fields was more desirable. Obviously, that’s not the commish’s job to decide that. But I agree, I don’t think a special email should be sent out, it’s up to each team to monitor this.
