Brett Anderson and Trevor Cahill battle it out again on another prospect list. They must have a great “friendly” competition going on between the two of them. Good stuff for the A’s, SOT and everyone who loves baseball.
p.s. I still have Anderson ranked one spot of ahead of Cahill on my personal rankings list. It’s very, very, very close though.
Breakdown of playersfor each team.
DMB – 10
101 – 6
WTNY – 5
JM – 4
TRC – 3
EE – 3
USA – 2
Sox – 2
That’s it Mike, just keeping rubbing it in.
“keep” not “keeping”….frig!
I’m sorry, but all the hard work i’ve put in over the past couple years is paying off.
No need to apologize. I would have posted something similar if we had 10 guys in the top 100 for BP. Although, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little bitter about BP’s list. KLaw (Chris’ boy) had both Hellickson (47) and Flowers (51) in his top 100 so I was hoping to see both on the BP list…even if they were ranked closer to the bottom of the BP list.
Huge differences from the two top 100′s. Interesting how a couple of the industry leaders can be so far off, as many as 50 or more spots on some guys like Flowers, Hellickson, Chris Carter. And guys like Triunfel who isnt on Goldsteins list at all.
I’d like to see the PQ Top 100.
Crap! I didn’t even realize that Triunfel wasn’t on BP’s List. That is very surprising to me.
I read Triunfel was dropped from the BP Top 100 for his “poor attitude” and “many off field problems”.
As you can imagine, my personal list looks a lot different than this one. Guys who wouldn’t sniff my top 100:
Erbe – Future reliever with inconsistent stuff
Cooper – Limited upside
Beltre – 15BB:105K
Portillo – International signee last year, 16 years old, yet no Martin Perez?
Drabek – has done ZERO to warrant this ranking, AND coming off surgery.
Detwiler – 22 in A+ with average stuff and below average numbers. Ummm…seriously?
Schlereth – Very agressive Mrs. Goldstein.
Guys with questionable placements:
Cecil – WAY too low for me. K’s, GB’s, with good reports. He’s about 50 spots too low for me.
Arencibia – WAY too high. Ok defense, with zero on base skills, good power, would be much lower on mine. If you include Arencibia at 43, then Teagarden has to make the top 100 somewhere, especially in a list that includes defense in the decision making criteria.
Holland – What’s not to like? Progressed each year, has the stuff to match the results. I’d move him up 20 spots and have him ahead of Bowden and Matusz.
Morrison – If you’re going to put Lars at 17, how do you drop Morrison down to 53? And then put Freeman in the 80′s. Too close in my eyes to have that large a gap between the three.
Triunfel – If you’re going to include someone like Marte in the top 100, it seems like a major oversight not to include Triunfel. It looks like he’s either top 25 for some, or not included at all for others.
F. Martinez – behind Greg Halman. Next.
Revere – Way too high for me. 1HR and scouts don’t see it in the swing, yet #36 on the list, ahead of guys like Hicks, Wallace, FMart, Morrison, Freeman, etc.
M Ramirez – Where is he?
Carrasco/Arrieta – Ahead of Main and Walden? No thanks.
Overall, I’m disappointed in his list, or, I simply disagree with his formula. Is it performance, is it production, what is it? I don’t see a consistent formula in place. I see more Justin Upton misses on this one than in years past.
